Cytus launches new web-based worldwide calling service. |

Cytus Communications, a telecommunications applications service provider based in Fremont, California,
today launched a new type of service that can reduce international phone rates by up to 85% for callers
in most countries. The service, called WebLaunch, allows a user anywhere in the world to connect to any
other telephone in the world by entering that phone number into Cytus' web site.

Although web-based calling services have been popular for the last few months, most such services use
voice over the internet to terminate their international calls, which degrades voice quality to unacceptable
levels for calls to most countries. WebLaunch, in contrast, connects two telephones using the regular
circuit-switched public telephone network, using the web only to trigger the initiating call.

WebLaunch is thus similar to traditional International Callback Service, although it has one significant
advantage over Callback. Callback has been declared illegal in many countries because the technology
used for the initiating call misuses the public telephone system's architecture. WebLaunch does not have
this handicap because it uses special software to link the internet to Cytus' telecommunications
infrastructure to legally trigger the initiating call.

"We believe that WebLaunch can substantially reduce worlwide calling rates. Although a few countries
have recently deregulated their international long distance markets, international rates are still
artifically high in most countries due to regulatory hurdles and market conditions. Cytus, as an
application service provider, offers the new competitive telecommunications companies in those
countries the opportunity to use its U.S.-based infrastructure to terminate calls globally without
having to build new facilities or use those of the incumbant carrier," said Vic Chari, President of Cytus.
